Heritage Advisory Committee

THAT the minutes from the June 23, 2022 meeting of the Heritage Guelph Committee, be approved.

THAT Heritage Guelph provides the following advice to the General Manager of Planning and Building Services with respect to the demolition application for 1 Yorkshire Street South:  The property does not merit individual designation under the Ontario Heritage Act.

THAT Heritage Guelph provides the following advice to City Council with respect to the demolition application for 435 York Road:  The property does not merit individual designation under the Ontario Heritage Act  That the property be removed from the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties

THAT 435 York Road meets the criteria for designation under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act and that Heritage Guelph recommends to City Council designation of this property.

THAT Heritage Guelph recommends that the properties detailed in the Agenda Attachment, “Couling Inventory Properties being considered for Listing (Exhibition Park North) (July 25, 2022)” be considered for inclusion on the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties and be the basis for community engagement of the Municipal Register of Heritage Properties Couling Building Inventory Expansion Project for the Exhibition Park North Area; and THAT the following properties not be considered for inclusion on the Municipal Register of Cultural Heritage Properties: 75 Division Street, 80 Kathleen Street, 86 Kathleen Street, 208 Kathleen Street, 8 Powell Street West and 298 Woolwich Street.

THAT Heritage Guelph receives the presentation by Heritage Planning staff regarding the Couling Building Inventory Project: Introduction to Exhibition Park South area provided at the July 25, 2022 meeting of Heritage Guelph.

THAT the Heritage Guelph meeting be extended by 15 minutes after 2:00 p.m.

THAT the Heritage Guelph meeting be extended to 2:30 p.m.

THAT given Heritage Guelph’s role as an advisory committee to City Council, Heritage Guelph requests City Staff provide to the committee, notice of the inclusion of any heritage related item on a Council meeting agenda, once the agenda is publicly available. Heritage Guelph also requests that any changed, updated, or added staff recommendation relating to an item discussed during a Heritage Guelph committee meeting be provided to the committee promptly to allow Heritage Guelph to review these alterations.

THAT the Heritage Guelph meeting be adjourned at 2:19 p.m.
